In past years, we've had a lot of comedy. Honestly, I think this is some of the best stuff we've seen across the board. Partly, it's because we're starting to be well known around the world's film schools.

It's a comedy, and the past few years we've gone dark musicals.

It's a comedy that is touching at times. It's poignant with the characters riding an emotional merry-go-round. But it also isn't that different from what we've done in the past. It's very similar to most of Neil Simon's work and we've done just about all of his plays. While there is some innuendo, it is at its heart something that our audience will really enjoy with their families.

Typically, lots of the local filmmakers come. (Eight of the films were made in Colorado; the bulk of those show Saturday.) Out of state, we may get 10 people who show up.

Really, what we're trying to do is show short films that haven't had any exposure from directors who are doing promising work.

It's a good idea to take a clinic or two to get the technique down before heading out into the backcountry.
