In home rule counties, the commissioners can enact taxes without putting it before the voters.

The only people who are actually paying the taxes are new home buyers. A lot of the wealthy people are not paying the taxes they should be paying, and a lot of the middle-class people are actually bearing the tax burden.

We need a drug court. We need to prosecute and we need to educate our children.

We need to diversify our economic base. We've got to do some very innovative thinking.

Generally, none have record-setting rates. But they have fairly high rates for all the taxes.

We've been fortunate to not have to raise taxes.
