In general, it was a pretty good session for business owners. I would say we made some progress this year.

Our members (are) unified around the fact that without workers who are presently here, our economy is in trouble.

We recognize that there may be other ways to measure whether students have the knowledge, but we haven't seen any that are developed and reliable. We're not supportive of any alternative that measures less than the WASL.

What we suggest is that they look at ones already in place to see if they are necessary.

It's a bright line in the sand for us.
