I'm really worried about the economy, so I was impressed with what Kerry said, ... But I don't know if it's political rhetoric or [there's] something that he can do. I'm still undecided, and probably will be until I go to the polls.

This is one strong economy.

In the new global economy, there is no quick fix.

People waited until the last minute to see how the economy was, if their job was on the line. Post-9/11 ... people lost jobs as the economy slowed down.

Investors are still looking for the economy to begin to pick up toward the end of this year with positive earnings comparisons occurring starting in the first or second-quarter of next year (2002). Trying to trade the market on the basis of whether the Fed is going to cut by 50 or 25 basis points, in a long-term portfolio, is not a prudent approach to investing.

In the minds of economy watchers, it raises a bit of a cause for concern.
