I'm not opposed to it. I just don't understand it.

I'm as worked up and excited for this game as I can possibly be. But I know I'm not nearly as worked up as the coaching staff. This is a tremendous match, and I think everyone agrees it's the two best teams.

You'd think it ought to be every other year that one team wins in this series. But that's not the way it's worked out. Not in my time. Not as a player, not as a coach.

I'm happy for Mack. No one can talk about him not winning a conference title anymore. And hopefully we'll be able to stop talking about how Texas hasn't won a national title since way back when.

Understand that the sponsors are the people that are making this sport happen. It's not the purses; it's the sponsors. The sponsors want to be in Texas, they want to be in California, they want to be in Las Vegas.

Football doesn't build character. It eliminates weak ones.
