I'm not one of these wild-eyed guys. All I can tell you is: The cupboard is not bare. There's talent here.

I think he's one of those guys that Earl Weaver talked about, when you get into the car, you come to the park and know that he's pitching for you, you feel pretty good. I certainly feel pretty good. I feel pretty good with all of them right now. They're all doing a good job. Hopefully, it's contagious and we can keep it up.

You can definitely make them better. A couple of guys have gotten better already. You stay on top of them, you harp on it, you make them aware of it. You try to give them so much confidence that they want when they go out there, they want the ball hit to them.

I think it'll be a nice little thing for the Florida Southern team to say they played against these guys, even though they're not going to play the whole game. There's still going to be a pretty good team throughout the whole game.

We stunk. The whole ball of wax was lackluster. It's been going on here before and it's not going to happen. . . . They were ready to get on the plane and go to Oakland. If we won, it was OK. If we lost, it was OK. And that's not good enough.
