I'm amazed at how far our kids have come and the coolest thing about this sport is we have kids from all walks of life excelling in the same sport.

The sport is great for developing motor skills, patterning, sequencing, focus and concentration. It teaches bilateral proficiency and the kids have a blast. Not a day goes by that a parent does not thank me for starting this unit at Sampson.

I discovered cup stacking through Bob Fox (founder of Speed Stacks, Inc.) at a conference back in 2000. Emily Fox (Fox's daughter) was stacking cups in a fury at a table in the exhibit hall. I'd never seen anything like it. I thought it would be something neat we could give a try-definitely something different.

I told the kids that this was a game that we needed to win. Our district is so up in the air because everybody is winning and everybody is losing. It's just going to come down to who wants it and which team is stronger.

Divorce is not easy, but if you genuinely put your kids first, that dictates the civility you should show each other. What example are you otherwise?

Coming from Morocco was just different, man. It's a third-world country, and you are trying to make it happen. That's all it is. I didn't have any problem hooking up with the black kids because I'm from North Africa. And as far as Latinos, we are all the same.
