If you start to target people based on a corpus of data, it can be abused in various ways internally and externally by organizations and government agencies.

As the technology has gotten better, the Secret Service is understandably concerned that not just crooks but ordinary people can print counterfeit currency as a one-off thing. But then this becomes an example of data creep, which is when you have something implemented for one purpose but ends up morphing into other things because there are no controls.

This organization continues to make major decisions without significant, broad public input or debate.

The outpouring of opposition to cuts in services needed by vulnerable families shows that more and more people across the nation want Congress to back the right priorities. People understand that it makes no sense to cut education, nutrition, and other vital services so that the wealthiest among us can receive billions more in tax breaks.

We can't just talk dollars when you talk about these cuts. These are impacting real people. Bush's budget makes cuts in services that people need, while continuing tax breaks worth trillions of dollars that go overwhelmingly to the wealthiest among us.

I believe people have already formed an opinion. That opinion is based on the reporting and that opinion is based on absolutely no facts and no evidence, and that is unfortunate.
