If you live in a country run by committee, be on the committee

We've practically been living on baked beans for the last couple of years. But we've put away enough for a deposit on our first home.

Living in a small studio or in a substandard apartment in Europe is better than living in a country where there is chaos and insecurity.

I have lived all over this country and in several foreign countries but I had never tried urban living. When we'd visit our daughter in Portland, we'd have so much fun on the weekends. We didn't have to get in the car to go to the fish market, the bakery, the coffee shop, the farmer's market. We'd walk all weekend and never have to get in a car. It was so much fun. I thought that since we're going to be staying in Staunton, this project was our chance to give urban living a try.

It's gonna go. It can definitely run. It shouldn't drive across country. But certainly it should be a living, healthy, valuable piece once we are done with it.

It's very special to be living here as the country as we prepare for the Ryder Cup, ... I think the players this week will feel some of that spirit of representing one's country.
