If you compare the scores of students from similar families, Texas does very well with respect to other states.

Texas is not the first state to take this step. Other states have already passed similar amendments, and there has been little if any noticeable impact on private employment laws in those states so far.

Regardless of where a child starts out in Texas, the research shows there is going to be improvement.

It does look to us that there is evidence that the reform initiatives across the states are working to increase achievement at least in some states.

I don't want to compare the guy to Barry Bonds, but the streak he's been on is very similar in that people aren't going to pitch to him if they don't have to.

It just builds an overall respect that probably helps the students more than anyone else, especially when they are looking for jobs.
