If they're going to college or if they've got a job right now - to be introduced to various trades and other things - they can have a back-up plan if things don't go the way they'd like them to go.

We always knew George could be a very good college player. We also knew that he undoubtedly had a professional-type body, and that it could make him a good pro player as well.
