If pandemics were hurricanes, 1918 was a Category 5.

We usually see our first confirmed cases in December, with peak activity in January [and into] early February.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. For every one of ours, there are many out there.

We?re just at the beginning of flu season. We expect cases to increase in the coming weeks. There is still vaccine in Connecticut -- several thousand doses.

It's only a matter of time before it gets here. It's like West Nile virus.

Hopefully, it will never happen. But there's been a major emphasis in the planning process.
