If God had to build a door, it’s because we erected a wall.

The things I’m burning daylight to figure out in my head are things God has already figured out in His. Faith then is resting in that fact, and in doing so suddenly finding out that among other things, I’m saving a whole bunch of daylight.

Despite my intellectual attempts to grasp it, I remain confounded beyond all repair to understand how God believes in us enough to choose us as the vehicles by which to destroy the darkness in the world that we, of our own accord brought into it. And while I may never understand all of it, it is my hope that I love God with enough passion and that I hate the darkness with enough ferocity to stand up and be that vehicle.

True peace cannot be found in a ‘place’. Rather, it is found in a Person who can be with you in any ‘place’.

I huddle in the dark with a mass of burnt matches strewn at my feet. And yet, for all of those matches I’ve not been able to light a single candle. And huddled in such deep darkness, I’ve somehow yet to realize that Christmas made both matches and candles forever obsolete.

Sometimes life has to strip us in order to save us.
