If any man claims the Negro should be content... let him say he would willingly change the color of his skin and go to live in the Negro section of a large city. Then and only then has he a right to such a claim.

There should be no discrimination against languages people speak, skin color, or religion.

The poor man looks upon the law as an enemy, not as a friend. For him, the law is always taking something away.

And the president is all wrong when he maintains that a nominee should have an up-or-down vote. The Constitution doesn't say that. The Constitution doesn't say that that nominee shall have any vote at all. There doesn't have to even be a vote.

The only difference between me and those other great Yankees is my skin color.
