I'd be more concerned if people looking for coaches weren't interested in the people we have at Hofstra.

She was able to build the visibility and credibility of the program and brought a lot to Hofstra. She left Hofstra women's basketball in better shape than when she found it, and for that we are grateful.

For them to be here today was very important. I think there can always be anxiety that your head coach is going to leave and I'm glad we're able to wrap this up and get it off their minds.

We wanted to move this along as quickly as we could knowing that [interest from other schools] very well could take place.

A key element of success in any of our programs is a continuity of staff. If there's a way to maintain that continuity, I feel obligated to do it. Especially when it's the right thing.

Obviously, we want Tom to be here a long time. The job he has done has been recognized by the people at Hofstra and people away from Hofstra. I have to anticipate someone will come calling.
