I've never hidden my Christianity in Hollywood, and I've been handled respectfully because I handle the issue and other people respectfully.

My wife and I have never been able to have kids of our own. Physically, it's impossible. The doctor checked. So we tend to unofficially adopt lots of twenty-somethings. I have a real soft spot in my heart for youth.

It has nothing to do with pushing an agenda. Hollywood is going with the times. It's not cool to smoke — that's why the bad guys are smoking, the antiheroes. If smoking were cool in the real world, it would be out of control in the movies like it used to be.

When I came out to Hollywood in 1985, I thought that I would be sitcom star. I'm a tall, skinny, goofy guy. I thought that I would make a great funny neighbor, or wacky office mate, in a sitcom.

Everybody I talked to -- they're disgusted. They're very upset with the way it's been handled. Seems like everyone wants to try and just ignore it, and I think that's sad.

I think it's best left in the driver's hands and the crew's hands on how they handle this issue. I don't think NASCAR can step in and make any improvements. They'll probably make the situation a whole lot worse for all of us anyway.
