I wouldn't have gotten as far I have if it wasn't for Martin Luther King. I am not viewed as just a black woman anymore, but as a working member of my community who has rights.

His love and faith is alive in millions of Americans who volunteer each day in soup kitchens or in schools, or who refused to ignore the suffering of millions they'd never met in far-away places when a tsunami brought unthinkable destruction. His vision and his passion is alive in churches and on campuses when millions stand up against the injustice of discrimination anywhere, or the indifference that leaves too many behind.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr whose father was named after the great Protestant reformer showed how to peacefully protest for ALL Americans to have basic human and civil rights. He challeged us all to judge each other "by the the content of their character". He went farther to say by extension "...give a person a chance in spite of their race not because of their race". It is simply up to us to act upon it and see it to fruition
