I worked at Bowman Gray School of Medicine before I became a mom. That's been about 15 years (ago). It is very scary. I guess you kind of go back to what you know.

We are not talking about a school of medicine in the traditional sense.

I met Jay in medical school. We both had similar interests in sports and sports medicine, so I think that kind of brought us together.

I absolutely believe they should have recess. I'm a liaison for the school, and I'm the one who's advocating for recess.

The idea is to have a dedicated funding source for at least 10 years so the school system knows what its capital funding from the city will be and can plan accordingly.

You don't wait until you show up on the first day (of middle school) and expect someone's going to tell you what to do.
