I went for a consult at MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina) and found out that he had to have six months of chemotherapy followed by two months of radiation.

He just kind of takes it as it is, and rolls with the punches. He's very tough.

He laid around all day and wouldn't open any presents without help. He couldn't really sit up. I just thought he had a virus.

That's when I found out it was a tumor, and that he had fluid on the brain, which was building up and that's why he couldn't walk. You never think your child has a brain tumor. That's not something you entertain.

We want people to be aware of this period in our country's history. As generations move away from the WPA era, people forget this wonderful program and the beautiful art that came out of it. We want to give visitors a sense of the history and understanding of this tremendous program put in place to create these amazing pieces of visual artwork.

It is a really interesting period in American art history. The government provided financial support for artists and they began to produce wonderful art that showed this unique period of time. The paintings are very rich and very beautiful.
