I was pathetic my ninth grade year. I couldn't even make a lay-up and you can forget about a long range shot.

All the extra work that I did paid off. The practice got me to the level that I needed to be to compete. Every player's goal is to get a college scholarship and go to the NBA, so the hard work is necessary.

Everybody used to always come up to me and tell me that I needed to play basketball. They said I was too tall not to have a basketball in my hands. The comments by other people got me interested in the game.
