I was immediately locked up again and was detained for three months. I appeared in court five times but the complainant never showed up.

Each time I went to see the investigating officer he would tell me to return after a week or a month. His endless excuses were exhausting.

He hit me on the head with his gun and without telling me what I had done wrong took me to the police cells where I was forced to spend the night.

I would plea with the court to keep him locked up forever.

Historically, steelhead would come back to spawn in the winter over three, four and even five months, depending on the stream. They would arrive around Thanksgiving and continue through March.
