I was drinking coffee with nondairy creamer and you would think nondairy creamer is no milk. Well, that isn't actually correct, and I kissed him on the cheek and his entire face blew up.

Until you really know it's a life-threatening disease, you think food allergies are a sniffle or a cough. We're not talking about a sniffle or a cough. We're talking about breathing or not breathing.

That's where we differ from other families. Food is celebratory. If you are a food-allergic family, you have to completely adapt.

That has helped from a social perspective. Lots of kids eat pizza.
