I wanted to say 'I shot the police' but the government would have been angry so I said 'I shot the sheriff;' means the same thing though: justice!

It is obvious that the government wants to continue this police state.

This Government has tied our police up in so much red tape that instead of being on the streets dealing with crime they now spend half their time at their desks.

Jamming equipment should only be used by the government, such as the police and the bomb squads, not the general public. Jamming is a weapon that should only be used against illegal activities.

We will resolve these matters through dialogue when we are in government. All I can say is no police officer will lose his job and no police salary will be cut.

We call on the Ethiopian government to halt the police violence and set up an independent and impartial commission of inquiry.
