I wanted Lou to come up here in the worst way as a special advisor. He promised me, if I asked him to, he'd come down to Spring Training. He's just a terrific guy. He will not be with us this year.

If the occasion calls for it. If we're into the middle of July and we're a contender, we're going to have to go with it and bite the bullet. That would be an example. Are we going to try and do that early on? No. We're going to stick to our budget.

I want everybody to see Pearl on CBS Sunday Morning. I promised Pearl that I would try and get this in the local paper so the people here could see what he has done. I'm proud when anybody does well - and he sure has. He worked for it, it wasn't given to him.

Both Maury and Lou were very smart. Lou would say: 'I want to get there as fast as I can.' But Maury, who wasn't quite as fast as Lou, wanted to make great slides that wouldn't allow them to tag him out.
