I want people like Rocky. I like underdogs. I've been one all my life. I like people who take it as a challenge when they're told they can't do something. This whole situation is a little like that.

He's a guy who cares about other people, that's what makes him so special. He's just a tough intelligent leader, who knows exactly what to do on the field.

It was good to get out here and see the players bounce around a little bit. We got out of it healthy. I don't claim to be real smart, but I feel really good about next fall. We have some guys who are really dedicated. We're going to be a tough team to beat.

We appreciate their loyalty and thank them for what they've done at the University of Houston.

The quarterback part, to me, is secondary to him as a person. His background, being from West Texas, tough, unselfish, not spoiled ... he's a can't-miss guy, in my opinion.

Everything was clicking on both sides of the ball. ...and I think we rode the wave of momentum for a while. Then we kind of fell into a lull. We have to understand that we have to be good on every play.
