I threw my coat because the guys were hollering at each other and I don't allow that. One of them was scolding the other for not making a pass and we kind of lost our poise after that.

A lot of guys, when certain things start going south on them, they fold and give in. That youngster didn't do it. He refocused again, played even harder and did an even better job of being a leader for us.

Michael Jordan and Coach Smith both came in the locker room afterward, ... I said [to the players], 'These guys and [former star player and assistant] Phil Ford and a lot of other people made North Carolina basketball. But you guys are going to be a huge part of it for the rest of your lives.'

I didn't realize until afterward that the guy who had the coin and flipped it was one of his former players. I think he felt guilty, so this time we played the first game in Chapel Hill.
