I thought he did a good job fighting and competing. I never got a sense he wanted out of the game. I really was pleased with him about that. [He] wasn't perfect; missed some reads and has to work on blocking. Like I said, for not having a lot of help [up front], he did all right.

You know if you can't cut, you can't run, ... It's no use.

I had seen him as a right guard when I was scouting him and that's what I thought he was, ... So I said, 'I'll just put him there and he'll be fine.' Well, it didn't turn out that way.

We are facing the top offense in the league, ... They are running for 166 yards a game, and have a balance that we haven't seen yet. They have a very good offensive line, a very good runner and a good, experienced quarterback. They are going to give us a lot of trouble and this is, balance-wise, the best offense we've played.

It's very draining when you put in all that work and it comes down to losing the last game. You just hope for another opportunity.

I'm not overly proud of 9-7. I'm really not. It really wasn't a good performance. It was one of those where you don't have much good to say. I'm just disappointed.
