I thought (Collins) was very effective. It appeared that they listened.

I think that the Common Application group adds three or four, maybe five universities a year. Many of us in the college admission field have used it for a number of years. We submitted our application; they reviewed it and gave us the go-ahead to be part of the group.

All of the questions are the same so that a student using the Common Application can submit it to a number of different colleges and universities in that group. For example, if a student wished to apply to Drexel, Villanova and Georgetown, they could fill out one application and submit it to all three organizations if we belong to the Common Application group.

There's no way to find out when it started. Years ago, nobody thought anything about it.
