I think we have to concentrate more on the private organizations (for future funding) just to get some operating money even to pay people to stay there to keep the office open.

It was just poor management. Looking at it from a professional point of view, the procedures and policies weren't there to control things.

We're going to have to show this is a viable organization before we go after government grants again.

I think there are some financial problems and it takes big organizations to run these things.

We still reach out to the needy and work with many organizations and raise the money ourselves.

To use taxpayers' money to send -- whether it's in the community or outside the community -- to organizations without getting a clear and direct taxpayer benefit, a public benefit, is wrong.
