I think the fine is too high. I'm opposed to the fees because I think this is more of a public health issue.

There is a confidentiality. You may not want your neighbor who might be sitting as a parent member to know all of your personal information regarding your child.

The people of Kansas are concerned about the amount of money we're spending on incarcerating drug offenders.

There are alternatives to the criminal justice approach to drug policy in Kansas. The public health system is better able to work with addiction.

If it becomes a revenue-generating source for the city, with traps that are set up to catch people, we will be back to talk to the commission about that.

The fact that a young child would prefer to see donations to our agency rather than [receive] more stuff is incredible.
