I think the blind trusts have not been created because of an ethical conflict, it's been created because of a political issue. He was trying to eliminate the political appearance of a conflict. It didn't work, that's the bottom line.

Everybody gets religion after a scandal, at least for a while. There are a lot of ethics rules in the House and Senate. The problem is that there either aren't enough rules or the enforcement has been insufficient.

Either he's got a lot of evidence he's holding back or he's shooting blanks. I just don't know.

The securities issue is potentially lethal for him. He has not yet really explained why he did this at this particular time.
