I think people are buying out of early nostalgia and sadness. They are buying up things they loved about New Orleans.

This is a folk culture constantly revived. People think it's nostalgia for baby boomers, but the shows are always being recycled. We're now looking back on five decades of music, so it's representative of several generations. ... These songs are a great unifier.

We're not like a nostalgia act, or the normal classic rock act -- we're a really good musical organization, ... You're going to hear some blues, some jazz, a little of everything. The guys in the band are great musicians. When we play, we're there for real. It's not about posing, strutting in tights, that kind of stuff. It's all about music, and I've always respected my audience that way.

Yet I think nostalgia of any kind is a double-edged sword. When people see a TV show title from their youth, they're looking for a piece of that old experience to come back, and the truth is, they'll never recapture it.
