I think on another day, we could have beaten these guys. For the most part, we were OK on offense. We just didn't execute very well on defense. We weren't tackling, and we gave up way too many big plays.

I think the great thing about our offense is that ... we have a bunch of guys that are capable of making plays. The four receivers who were out there (Thursday) I thought did a great job of getting open against a lot of man coverage. I thought the tight ends did a nice job. ... Corey caught a few passes, Kevin caught some passes and spread the ball around. It puts a lot of pressure on a defense.

Like I've told you guys before, he's what makes our offense go,

I didn't sense our guys tightening up on offense. I think Detroit just tightened up defensively.

We realize our offense got a lot of guys back, and we've done a lot of things to improve our defense. We were 8-8 last year. We need to step up from there. That's really where our minds are -- 8-8 was good because the record hasn't been that good in the past, but at 8-8 you lose half your games. That's nothing to write home about, nothing to be proud of. We're definitely expecting to take drastic steps from last year into this year.

That was a huge momentum shift for us. We can't blame the whole game on it, though. There was a lot of things we didn't do right today.
