I think in five, 10 or 15 years people will look back and see just how important this piece of legislation is in regards to environmental protection and economic development.

This is a bill that you (supervisors) are not comfortable with and we know that. We need to find something that the six counties can live with as well as something that meets the Governor's vision and something that meets Washington's expectations of where the $600 million is going.

It may be the first step to regionalizing. It certainly relates and comes directly from the vision established by the Governor and the Governor's Commission.

He's a guy who will go down as hated by a lot of people and loved by a lot of people.

We will still have activities going on … and we still want people to come out.

The emotional response is natural. However, people have to let the intellectual side win, because the only way they will ever have enough money to retire is if they have equity-like returns.
