I tell a lot of girls not to have the surgery. Some coaches will pull the scholarships of injured players. I want my girls to know their scholarships will always be here.

She was an inspiration for this team. We all saw how hard she worked to get back, her determination. It helped the other players work harder.

I had to go into the season prepared not to have her. So we had a plan.

I haven't done that in awhile. It was twofold. First, we were missing our free throws. And it just seemed like we didn't get warmed up before the ballgame. It seemed like we were running in slow motion.

We work on our free throws every day. I don't know, I guess free-throw shooting is boring. But I have read every book, watched every tape, and we still shoot 50 percent. I think maybe we'll stop for awhile.
