I was asked three times directly in the hearing before the board of the judiciary whether or not I would continue to acknowledge God if I were to resume my position as chief justice. And I said I would.

He's advised the court what his name is. He's not required to do that under oath.

It's very important to him. He took an oath first of all. He's very dedicated to his job.

But we are gratified that the Supreme Court has acknowledged and clarified the distinct but separate roles of sheriffs and police officers with regard to law enforcement.

As I understand, the role of the federal judiciary, the role of our court system, is to provide justice.
