I sprang to the stirrup, and Joris, and he; / I galloped, Dirck galloped, we galloped all three.

The horse went over backward once and came down. He got his left foot out of the stirrup but he couldn't get his right foot out in time.

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

He got into a nice rhythm, and when we came into the straight he galloped on strongly. This is only the beginning for this horse.

He galloped a mile and a half, as planned. I didn't think the track was that bad when he went. It was wet but it was in good shape. The track is not going to bother us regardless anyway.
