I really want people to get to know Jon. He's just been the absolute delight of our family.

We adapted to Jon rather than have Jon adapt to us.

A lot of them were quite depressing and didn't have a sense of humor. And, none of them told the story of our family. I knew we had a really positive feeling about Jon and his affect on our lives.

People need family-oriented involvement. It gives a sense of community to make people feel not so lost. It's important to personalize the community's needs.

Together in our house, in the firelight, we are the world made small.

It's very surreal. When we were little we would watch the pageant as a family, and my sister and I would go into the utility room and play Miss America in our heels.
