I never had a little brother, so I hope I've been able to pass on some words of wisdom from my own experience and knowledge of the world, ... I'm very proud of Corey. I'm glad to call him my friend and have him in my life as a brother.

To say how close John and dad were, I'd call him after meets - all the way up till the end. We discussed how things went and I said, 'Dad, now who am I going to call.' Without hesitation he said you'll call John. That's how close that bond was and he thought of John and John thought of him.

Dad thought he was going to make it. He wanted badly to get back down here.

We really had to look around. They were all down in the basement. He wasn't one to toot his own horn. He was more happy seeing others succeed. You could see the happiness in his eyes.

When I made it down to work the state tournament, I think John was tickled just as much as dad.

They have salary requirements, and that gets passed along through tuition. That has driven up the cost of providing an education.
