I knew some of the guys (in the Syracuse lineup) from last year, and a lot of the new guys didn't waste any time swinging at strikes. I struggled a bit early but got out of it.

We're going to be able to put some runs up on the board and we're going to shut out a lot of guys. We're going to surprise a lot of people in this league.

I thought I was going to get out of it. I just tried to keep throwing strikes. They were finding the holes to hit them at.

Just as long as I'm getting the opportunities, I'm happy. I'd like to think that I'm ready for the next step, and I want to show them that I am.

A number of candidates have been spoken to already and more interviews are planned for the next few days. Ideally, the board are seeking a candidate with proven managerial and coaching experience.

That has been done to me in the past and it is not something I want to put other clubs through. The job is something I've got to think hard about and I'm not going to employ a manager just for the sake of doing it quickly.
