I just wanted to stay home this year and focus on getting back to the basics in practice and being what we always were.

In addition to my (counseling) practice, I've had a lengthy career in music. Years ago, I sang country songs in the Saloon. When I heard it was for sale, it was very exciting.

It had to be that bizarre for us to lose to them. These were things we've never done. They're not the better team, but they did what they had to do to win the game.

A couple of years ago, one of my pitchers hit a player and broke her nose. And she had prom the next night.

She gives us great senior leadership as a player who knows what it takes to win and her sister is a player to watch for the future. She's a very good defensive outfielder.

We went into the season knowing we didn't have someone who would make sure we didn't lose games like this. I made a CD with songs like 'Eye of the Tiger' and that was our theme. We just didn't have any players with the experience to be like the eye of the tiger. Just what we feared all along came true.
