I hope he comes by. I'd be glad to tell him why these files are here. He has a lot of things to learn … I hope he keeps the staff because you just bring in people all from outside. Of course, that's his decision, not mine.

I feel after eight terms I'm ready to retire. We need somebody with new ideas.

A positive response has occurred and we hope to continue to work together with the community to have a nicer place to live.

There is always hope. Because we really don't know what conditions they are in, there could be pockets of air down there.

This (rescue) operation will not stop. We will continue as long as there is hope. . . . We don't know how much air they have, in what condition they're in, if perhaps there are long air pockets.

Obviously I'm not very happy. I'm actually very concerned that we as a community will accept this and hope that we as a community - and I mean everybody - will do whatever it takes to put a stop to this and if we're aware of any of the perpetrators that we report them so that we can take care of them and they'll be held responsible.
