I have asked the leaders to settle the issues fast and reach a compromise as it will permit the Iraqi parliament to complete the draft constitution in time.

Leaders of the political blocs reached an agreement on the constitution draft that guarantees the rights of all Iraqi people in the referendum.

In this respect, I have called before these attacks for halting these operations so that people will not believe the attacks are aimed at preventing them from participating in the referendum.

All parties will work within the next three days to reach an agreement. We will meet in three days to finalise this issue.

These amendments open new horizons and give everyone the chance to participate in the political process and in the building of the second Iraqi republic.

Our aim was always to reach a consensus to ensure a victory in the referendum.
