I have an affection for a great city. I feel safe in the neighborhood of man, and enjoy the sweet security of the streets.

Businesses have to feel safe or they won't come to the city. If customers don't feel safe they won't patronize the businesses. In economic terms, crime prevention is critical. Even if there's no crime, if you're in fear of it, you're a victim of the crime.

One great building does not make a great city.

Dallas is a great city, and it's worth fighting for.

Lives of great men all remind us, we can make our lives sublime, and, departing, leave behind us, footprints on the sands of time.
