I have a friend that works at a gas station so I just get him to phone me when it's going up, so I can get the inside edge on it.

I think that what it says is from an external point of view, from a national stage, we're being recognized for excellence in what we're doing. When I first came on board with the CU College of Music in fall of 1999, one of the things I had hoped to see was some recognition at some point from these national awards. And for us to have had the 13 in five years has exceeded my expectations, but I think clearly represents the great work the students and faculty are doing.

Our charge was to look at the facilities and to look at the county farm. There are a lot of options to move forward with. I can't say what two weeks will cost us that much. Just because we aren't recharged doesn't mean we won't talk about it amongst ourselves.

The record is prettier and more emotionally direct. That came organically, because we wanted to use more acoustic instruments. We appreciate making a connection with an audience rather than identifying with a specific style. So we put more of ourselves into the album and drew that out.

That's been our lineup since the preseason. When you take a cog out of that, it kind of throws everything off and put us off-balanced. We came out in the second half and played some basketball with our starting five.
