I grew up with a lot of brothers, and I don't have any sisters, so for me it's really important to develop my sisterhood. It's something I've always coveted.

Sisterhood is important to me.

Imagine: you could say nothing, do nothing, eat nothing, touch nothing, love nothing without the other knowing.

I don't think an artist should always know why they gravitate toward something or someone. You are just drawn to things, and that's OK.

The knowledge of death seemed present in both sisters—it was something about the way they carried themselves, something that had broken too soon and had not mended, marking them in spite of their lightheartedness.

No matter what, they always had each other. How did people get through life without sisters?
