I grew up in a neighborhood with blacks and Puerto Ricans and Italians, the whole gamut, so conveying unity has always meant a lot to me.

I don't necessarily have friends who are forensic scientists, but I have tons of friends who are cops.

Projects meant living with blacks and Puerto Ricans, but that's what we wanted. Living in the projects, we've met so many wonderful, wonderful people.

I'm proud of who I am, and I'm proud I grew up in Puerto Rico.

I grew up kind of a tomboy and I used to fight with all the neighborhood boys.
