I get asked this a lot: Why has soccer not succeeded? My answer is, soccer has succeeded. It is already the fastest growing youth participation sport in the U.S. It has already succeeded at the youth level, no question.

Bob asked our permission and he certainly didn't have to do that. We didn't have any claim to it, we hadn't used it for many, many years. I still like it. Everyone in the state of Texas is a Texan, so it fits Houston, too.

I once asked him something at a question-and-answer session in London. He yelled back, angrily, 'You must be an English professor.' He couldn't even see me. He'd discerned it from the question.
