I feel a great commitment, a duty, because I was raised here to keep boxing alive in this area. I tell people on Beacon Hill about the history of boxing in Brockton. I enlighten them.

Boxing becomes easy work when you fall in love with your craft.

If I wasn't going to find a Hilario to train me, someone who's sincere, then I'd become a Hilario for someone else. It's a great irony that I got expelled from school for fighting and now I'm teaching people how to do it.

This makes all the hard hours of training, all the work and commitment that one puts into boxing worthwhile ... I'm over the moon.

This is a great opportunity to join a company with a strong commitment to boxing. It was one of the hardest decisions I had to make because of the loyal friends I had at Team Freedom. But their support of my move made the decision easier.
