I don't know if we expected to get trounced like that. But we had a lot of young guys wrestling against their seniors and juniors. We were hopeful we could wrestle a little better and not get pinned as much.

If they would have told us there was going to be alcohol at the state wrestling tournament, that certainly would have made a difference to me in how I felt about it.

One of the things we stress is to make sure you are prepared. Do you have enough water? Do you have the right equipment? When we travel, there is a checklist of things, the type of places we stay in, for example.

Coaches have a certain amount of influence that maybe parents don't have. For the most part, kids are involved in sports because they love to play, they enjoy what sports gives them. Some kids, it may be the one positive thing they have going on. Maybe they're struggling a little bit in school.

White can pull up on a dime and shoot. You don't see many players like that.
